Opening heading[edit]

Actually, the runway of the Tijuana "Abelardo L. Rodríguez" Airport runs (east-west) paralell to the U. S. Mexican border fence and is at least 100 meters south of it. The approach to the runway is either from the East (normally) or from the West (when Santa Ana wind conditions exist). Either way, airplanes do not have to clear the U. S. - Mexico border fence in order to land! So I will remove that wrong statement from the article.

I don't understand why most of the airport images were removed, including the airport's gallery! The images had a purpose, and they were correctly placed and edited, as well as the fact that most airport articles contain many pictures. "As of December 9, 2015, with the opening of the Cross Border Xpress bridge and terminal, Tijuana is the only airport in the world to have terminals in two countries." What about Geneva Airport? There is a French terminal which sits on Swiss soil but has a road connection to France, and there are customs checks between the French terminal (terminal F) and the rest of the airport.Detgfrsh (talk) 22:29, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You answered your own question. Geneva airport terminals are both on Swiss soil. Basel airport terminals are all on French soil. Tijuana airport has one terminal in Mexico and another on United States soil. Keizers (talk) 21:57, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport → Tijuana International Airport – Move in accordance with WP:COMMONNAME. Tijuana International Airport appears, by far, to be the common name. A news search on Google for "Tijuana International Airport" reveals 726 hits whilst a news search of "General Abelardo L. Can anybody help please. I am writing a novel, which includes a flight into Hermasillo airport from the east, possibly 270 degrees. I have to be accurate. Does anybody know the exact orientation on the the compass apart from east to west of the approach flightpath please? Thank you, Dave

Note 13 mentions the Swiss 'cross border' airports [not I think referenced in the main text which refers only to Hong Kong] but does not mention the fact that Geneva/Cointrin airport's single runway runs parallel and 100m on the Swiss side and the cross -border road passes under the runway leaving room for Swiss customs only on the French Side of the border.
