Why I created a separate article for the car

[edit]

Hello - I have created TOGG Turkish national car (please rename if necessary)

1) to match structure of Turkish Wikipedia 2) so the infobox can easily be seen at the top of the article Chidgk1 (talk) 17:40, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If anything is in the wrong article please transfer - thanks

Do any Turkish Wikipedians care about electric cars?

[edit]

Hello & Merhaba,

If you are a native speaker of Turkish read on.

--begin rant--

As you can see from

https://tr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Elektrikli_otomobil&action=history

for many years I have been trying to improve the very out of date article :tr:Elektrikli otomobil but other editors continually revert my changes. As I am not a native speaker most of my attempted changes were deletes or adding cites or updating numbers or suchlike. I suppose looking on the bright side I did manage to delete a lot of rubbish about fire risk, although there is still a lot there.

I now feel that I have wasted so much time that I am tempted to give up completely on Turkish Wikipedia.

As the subject is obviously very important for Türkiye if you are a native speaker maybe you would like to have a go at improving that article - I think a good start would be deleting lots of uncited stuff which may or may not be true and the ancient garbage which likely puts off readers.

I don't understand why some Turkish Wikipedians do stuff which helps kill people by pollution - it is just wrong.

--end rant--

Ah that's better - I am unable to write a good rant in Turkish.

“Any content – not just unhelpful content – on sites determined to have relatively high amounts of unhelpful content overall is less likely to perform well in search, assuming there is other content elsewhere from the web that’s better to display,” Google says. “For this reason, removing unhelpful content could help the rankings of your other content.”
So is this article dragged down by the rubbish on Turkish Wikipedia? Chidgk1 (talk) 06:08, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Are TOGG cars luxury cars?

[edit]

All new cars are subject to “special consumption tax” as far as I know. So perhaps by definition every new car in Turkey is a luxury car?

Or perhaps we should wait for the first independent review from a motoring journalist?

What do you think and why - are TOGG cars luxury cars? Chidgk1 (talk) 15:15, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The “special consumption tax” (ÖTV) nowadays isn't only for luxury products. It is widely applyed on fixed assets (cars, phones...) of any kind.
And yes, Togg is lacking informations from independent sources, because their cars are still new on the market and it is only available in Türkiye so far now.
But Togg is a luxury brand. We can surely say that. If you look at all the luxury brands in the world (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo), there is a standard nomenclature for the naming of the cars in the luxury market. All luxury brand's cars name start with letters + numbers: BMW x1, x3, x5, x5m. Mercedes c63, gla, glc, c300. Audi a4, a6, q3, q7. Volvo xc40, xc60, s90... So Togg is also doing so: T10X. If it was a regular brand like Toyota or Renault or VW, the cars would actually have real names (like Passat, Corolla, Civic, Talisman,...). TB du CAN (talk) 20:46, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I have to ask to the company to make sure. 132.208.16.30 (talk) 19:50, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A cite from the company would not be good enough as of course they want to plug their cars. But I am sure one of the owners will very soon let a motoring journalist drive and write about their T10X so if that review says “luxury” we will be able to cite it on the T10X article. Chidgk1 (talk) 20:07, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
However if you do have influence with the company it would be great if they could upload pics from inside the factory to Wikimedia Commons Chidgk1 (talk) 20:14, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah there is one pic but more would be great. Do you know what “kör kalıp” means in English. I suspect the literal “blind mold” is wrong Chidgk1 (talk) 20:23, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah formwork Chidgk1 (talk) 20:33, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am too lazy to ask them but perhaps you can get hold of an assembly line pic Chidgk1 (talk) 20:34, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
