Correct name?

[edit]

Tower Hamlets Cemetery is now Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park

Should the article be moved? Gordo (talk) 11:45, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the site is now known as Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and has been for some time. What do you mean by 'moved' in this case (I am new to wikipedia)?
I have two suggestions for how to go forwards -
(1) Simply rename the page Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and rework the text to make the history clear, or
(2) Have two pages, one for The City of London and Tower Hamlets Cemetery covering the history up until 1966 and another page for Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park covering the history since then. FOTHCP (talk) 16:06, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Uncertain: Though it appears some officials want to convert this cemetery into a park, it would take data to show that 'Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park' is the most common way to refer to the place in reliable sources. EdJohnston (talk) 02:54, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sources include Friends of Tower Hamletrs Cemetery Park, Trip Advisor, Tower Hamlets Council, National Federation of Cemetery Friends, BBC, Yellow Pages and it is also shown on Google Maps as such. Simply south ...... time, department skies for just 8 years 15:52, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tower Hamlets Council lists it as Cemetery Park (Tower Hamlets Cemetery). However, it is listed as Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park by Natural England, by Greenspace Information for Greater London (the official London environmental record office), and by the London Parks & Gardens Trust. It is the name used by most reliable sources. Dudley Miles (talk) 08:04, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
