Should guar beens be included in this article? The guar article food section mentions this article. jrun (talk) 20:52, 10 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article incorrectly states that "Trypsin inhibitor is present in various foods such as soybeans, pineapple, papaya fruit, cereals and various additional legumes." However the reference clearly states that pineapple and papaya fruit have proteases (that break down protein), rather than trypsin inhibitors, that prevent such breakdown. This needs to be corrected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.248.33.194 (talk) 09:38, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Competitive or not[edit]

I have changed language stating the mechanism is competitive to saying that serpins imitate a substrate and then damage the enzyme. Silverman agrees with that and I have added Cohen et al. 2019 and Farady & Craik 2010. The Sigma Aldrich source does state that they are competitive – however this is sourced to a 1989 experimental paper which infers this based solely upon the reaction rate.
