Inaccuracy regarding Iceland[edit]

I have reason to believe that Iceland has been erroneously mentioned in this article as an example of a country with a predominant Tundra biome. The lack of trees is believed to be caused by deforestation rather than the local climate.

See: http://www.skogur.is/english/forestry-in-a-treeless-land/

Suggest editing the second sentence[edit]

Suggest change to: The term tundra comes through Russian mediation (Russian: тундра) from Kildin Sami tūndâr, which means "uplands, treeless mountain tract."

Redundancy in section headings[edit]

I removed "tundra" in section headings (see WP:HEAD). Old links are preserved by an {{anchor}} template. — Eru·tuon 17:55, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Map Picture?[edit]

If the map is supposed to be representative of tundra locations, and the article talks of antarctic tundra, why is Antarctica completely absent from it, grey or otherwise? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.250.32.166 (talk) 18:27, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Map is for arctic tundra, only. —hike395 (talk) 01:15, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Error?[edit]

In the Economy section it says "Difficultues of prospecting". Shouldnt it say "Difficulties of prospecting"? AVIADOR (talk) 14:44, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

I think it would be more informative if you listed flora and fauna.

Could someone please change the color of the map? The light-blue color is almost impossible to see. Or well, for me it is. (I'm colorblind) This is way better:

Arctic tundra map appears to be incorrect, original research[edit]

The arctic tundra map shows tundra around the complete perimeter of Antarctica, while the WWF Antarctic tundra description says that there is tundra only on the western part of the Antarctic Peninsula (the little tip that reaches up towards South America). The article text follows the reference.

The map is thus clearly incorrect, unsupported by references, contradicting the article it occurs in. It should be removed until it can be fixed. —hike395 (talk) 16:42, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

The new map that CambridgeBayWeather added to the article
You mean like this one? CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 09:30, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for supplying the new map. It's unfortunate that biome maps are so poorly sourced: it's difficult to verify their correctness. I see that MPF edited that map --- he/she has been a reliable editor in the past, so I think we can trust this map. —hike395 (talk) 13:27, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
