Ive changed the start point to detroit as it is where the highways construction began. Unless there is an official system whereas all highways go west to east it seems logocal to write the starting point as Detroit. It also sounds less contradictory this way as other sections of the article refer to the expansion westward over the decades. Obviously, while today each end of US 12 can be the beginning or the terminus, the road was first constructed east to west and slowly expanding.
However, Ive left the other sections such has state by state descriptions of the road in their previous order running from west to east as a compromise as they do not directly refer to the actual construction of the road but can be seen as a random choice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Swanson16 (talk • contribs) 13:24, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Actually, this makes the article read a bit strangely. The first paragraph says it runs from Washington to Michigan, and then the second says it starts in Detroit.
Also, the Wisconsin section runs East to West. Can someone with more knowledge of the route in that state please rework this? Canth1 (talk) 18:45, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
I don't think that section is relevant, it's a defunct idea that was abandoned years ago. Plus, it's factually incorrect and does not have enough citations. There is a small section in the history of the US 12 in Wisconsin article that mentions it. We don't need it here. NBA2030 (talk) 18:16, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
The historical content from the state-detail subarticles should be summarized in this national-level parent article. This is a historical proposal that impacts the routing and configuration of the highway, as such, it should appear here in some format. That many of the various national-level articles are in a sorry state of affairs doesn't mean we should completely remove appropriate content from those articles. Instead, we should work on importing and improving the information that should appear in these articles. Imzadi 1979→ 23:39, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
