merge tag inappropriate[edit]

A tag suggesting a merger with an article that concerns a philosophical topic in aesthetics that includes several versions of a statue named Unconditional Surrender (one of which is the topic of the article) is not relevant because that article has little to do with the statue. It is being discussed in a separate kitsch article because it is a quintessential example of Kitsch rather than a discussion of a works that bear this name, which is categorized as kitsch.

I believe that 'this article should be cut because it is inadequate in scope for the topic alone and certainly for the subject. There are a whole series of statues named Unconditional Surrender. Since it is not significant in the world of sculpture, it is not an article I would contribute to, and no work on it has occurred since it was begun. I question its notability aside from all of the others in the series and in art in general. Discussion of this under the creator, is adequate and if the law suits against it materialize because of the assertion of copyright infringement, they may have to be destroyed anyway.

Because of this, I am going to remove the tag for the suggested merge with the kitsch topic for now. Consideration of removing the others should occur. ----83d40m (talk) 19:16, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Yes, merge. The "kitsch article" referred to above has been renamed and abridged as "Unconditional Surrender (sculpture)" and this article should redirect to that one. As should "Unconditional Surrender (statue)". -- Hoary (talk) 12:03, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
