Page[edit]

This page was created because NORTHCOM was being directed to NORAD, and that is not correct. NORAD and NORTHCOM are two different organizations. Though NORTHCOM was created only in 2002 and shares its homebase with NORAD, I thought it deserved its own page.

"However, in case of national emergency, natural or man-made, its Air Forces Northern National Security Emergency Preparedness Directorate will take charge of the situation or event.[2]" Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The citation is a splash page for a directorate of 1st Air Force that says nothing of the sort. Per NORTHCOM's NNCMD 1 dated 16 SEPTEMBER 2013 Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DCSA) is the purview of Joint Task Force - Civil Support (JTF-CS) which was delegated to US 5th Army (US Army North). - spence.calder 16:35, 10 Jan, 2016

I can think of a couple of reasons it keeps getting removed. For one, it's almost a copy of the section directly below it. Pick one or the other, not both. And second, it appears to be original research at best, particularly the claim that it will be used to impose martial law in the U.S. What? The one reference you had for that doesn't exist, and even if it did it would not qualify as a reputable resource for citation purposes on Wikipedia. Thus, this qualifies the statement as falling under the category of conspiracy theories, something that is not permitted to run free on this site. So either come up with reputable sources for this claim or I'LL delete it per Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. --ScreaminEagle (talk) 17:55, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
