China National Radio on UIBE's popularity[edit]

On April 20 user Sirlanz has removed this sentence in the section on foreign students: "According to a 2011 survey by China National Radio UIBE is one of the ten Chinese universities most favored by foreign students." Reference for this is http://www.china.org.cn/top10/2012-01/17/content_24420997.htm In the original article it says "China National Radio (CNR) education channel, based on votes from Internet users and reviews by experts, have listed, in no particular order, the top ten Chinese universities most favored by foreign students in 2011."

While one can certainly argue about the level of veracity of reports from Chinese state-owned media outlets, the former sentence does give some information about the method used to compile the list of universities. Or at the very least it does not warrant a removal with the reason "No support, just groundless propaganda piece".114.252.71.175 (talk) 08:53, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

This page went through the traditional process for renaming a page, approved by an administrator, and I see in no way how the title of the page invades on their copyright. Please explain how this is vandalism. Also please refrain from moving the page until consensus is reached. Thanks! Kharkiv07 (talk) 03:36, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I take back my previous comment, I now see these pages are the exact same... hmmm... I'll look into it. Kharkiv07 (talk) 03:41, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Kharkiv, thanks a lot for both your comments. To make it simple, we can not name "Harvard Universty" as "Boston Harvard University" on Wikipedia, right? I think "Boston Harvard University" is definitely invading "Harvard Universty"`s copyright. What`s more, as you mentioned, the content on the two pages are excactly the same. To tag duplicates, at least we need to redirect "Boston Harvard University" to "Harvard Universty", if we didn`t delete "Boston Harvard University" page. I have noticed you have done the redirection. Thank you again for your help to a Wikipedia rookie me. Amuwazi (talk) 03:34, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
