The University of the Philippines is a State University and was founded by an act of Congress in 1908. Many presidents and senators are among its graduates. It offers programs at the college, graduate, and postgraduate levels in various fields such as the arts, medicine, humanities, business, law, social sciences, and the pure and applied sciences. It is known for its program for law, agriculture, engineering and medicine.
