For wiki environments[edit]

any body know of a vector graphical editor for wiki environments? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DennisDaniels (talkcontribs) 00:47, 21 September 2002 (UTC)

Flash[edit]

I don't think Flash really qualifies as a vector graphics editor, at least not in the same sense as Illustrator or Freehand. Unless someone objects, I'm going to remove it from the list. madoka 22:52, Oct 25, 2004 (UTC)

Since nobody complained, I went ahead and removed Flash. madoka 15:28, Nov 2, 2004 (UTC)

Flash is a more sophisticated vector graphic editor than most on that list because it includes bitmap-style editing features in a vector graphic format. It can also import and export to the popular vector graphic programs in vector format. It's vector graphics that enable flash to animate so quickly with low bandwidth on the web. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Artsmartconsulting (talkcontribs) 17:59, 31 August 2006 (UTC) ==

Comments[edit]

As a professional designer and a design instructor I have to say this sentence:"Modern vector editors are capable of, and often preferable for, designing unique documents (like flyers or brochures) of up to a few pages; it's only for longer or more standardized documents that the page layout programs are more suitable." is not correct. It is true that vector editors can make single page documents and a few (including illustrator CS4) can make multipage documents, but I would not use the word preferable. I suggest this replacement: "Vector editors are capable of creating standalone graphics, graphics to be used in page layout or web design programs, and single page designs. Newer vector editors have added multipage support, though they have not traditionally been used for that purpose." What do others think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.202.70.11 (talk) 16:36, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Comment Regarding Fireworks[edit]

Although Adobe isn't planning to update Fireworks beyond CS6, Fireworks is a dual purpose editor that handles both bitmaps and vector graphics. The article indicates that it's only used for vectors, which is false. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Moondazed (talkcontribs) 18:23, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
