List of susceptible plants
Does the huge list of susceptible plants belong here? It doesn't seem like something I'd expect to see in an encyclopaedia. Perhaps it should be a separate list article, or perhaps it should be on Wikibooks instead. Thomas Kluyver (talk) 17:17, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- It's the most relevant part of the article if you're a gardener. Laetoli (talk) 10:20, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Lettuce resistant or susceptible?
I see lettuce listed as resistant but in the main text is says the lettuce crop in the Salinas Valley is severely affected. Can a knowledgable person clear up the inconsistency? 188.8.131.52 (talk) 21:39, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- There are some new (as of 2013) cultivars of lettuce that are resistant to it, most are not. Mkettler (talk) 23:51, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
I see no mention of chemical or biological controls. Are there any?
- Sadly I've come across several websites that indicate there is no cure other than to trim away the dying portion of the plant and hope for the best. 184.108.40.206 (talk) 21:39, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
- None that are practical while plants are alive, severe cases may call for covering the soil in plastic and fumigating after plants have died off in fall (it can persist in the soil for years). Some soil bacteria can fight it, but do not completely control it. Mkettler (talk) 23:51, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
