history[edit]

maybe something about the way women did this trick before there was reconstructive surgery: by filling their **** with a blood-soaked cloth, walking around with itching-nettles inside their ****** before the big night, etc —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.127.246.107 (talk) 23:56, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

You're allowed to say vagina, this is the internet and we are adults (hopefully). Anyway, almost all of this article appears to have been completely made up. There are no sources for the section "Operating concept of virginity", and the generalized language does not make reference to any particular culture. The "ancient wedding ritual" bit is particularly hilarious. Even if there was a culture where such a practice was widespread, the wording and use of "scare quotes" reads like a tabloid with obvious bias. 24.186.30.227 (talk) 06:06, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
No, this is a thing. It's common in the Middle East. --Dawud — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.240.181.145 (talk) 04:32, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
