Back in 2018 I pointed out on this talk page that describing Marcantonio as a "democratic socialist" was unwarranted given that none of his biographers use the term and Marcantonio never seems to have described himself as a socialist, "democratic" or otherwise (instead he stated he believed "in a strictly regulated form of capitalism.") Four years later the article now opens with describing him as a "Marxist-Leninist," which is absurd. The source it cites makes no such claim, going no further than calling him a "radical" and a "populist." Having a "domestic political agenda roughly parallel to that the Communist Party" meant he was associated with causes the CPUSA also supported, like Puerto Rican independence and opposition to McCarthyism. It does not mean he was a Marxist-Leninist, a Marxist, or even just a plain ol' vaguely-defined socialist, and as noted the source cited doesn't make such claims.
