Didn't PowWow have it first? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 16:37, 30 December 2005‎ (UTC)

Timeline for history?[edit]

When did Rocket Messenger and AOL have voice chat? I worked for, makers of the Mplayer gaming service, and we had voice chat in our betas in 1996. We released to the public in... 1997 I believe.

Also, we did the initial voice chat (both server and client) for Yahoo Instant Messenger. By then Mpath had changed its name to HearMe; YIM had a "Powered by HearMe" icon as part of the voice chat GUI. --Larry Hastings (talk) 22:52, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

This doesn't really explain what voice chat is or does. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 06:04, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Voice chat vs. VoIP[edit]

Can someone explain how this differs from VoIP? If not, both articles should probably be merged… Calimo (talk) 08:22, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
