Dropping the UPN trademark[edit]

Somebody jumped the gun in saying, "...many of its sister stations (like WWOR-TV and KCOP) began to drop all refrence [sic] to UPN almost immediately." I just retrieved the WWOR website, and am finding several instances of the UPN name, including in the station's branding (UPN 9) and logo. Let's remember that The CW Television Network "contains information about a future television station or television network," as the boilerplate states. Some of the "factual" information to be found is actually still speculative at this point. -- SwissCelt 03:55, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:MyWPWR.PNG[edit]

Image:MyWPWR.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

New logo for WPWR-TV on September 1, 2016[edit]

Do you guys have any idea what the new logo for WPWR-TV will look like after WGN-TV becomes an independent station on September 1, 2016? AdamDeanHall (talk) 20:40, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Miyares' role as described may be fiction[edit]

I'm presently doing research on the handful of time share television operations that have taken place in the 1950s through early 1970s.

The narrative given here about Marcelino Miyares owning the license is at odds with what was reported in Broadcasting in their "For The Record" listings of FCC actions. In fact, the narrative here is at odds with that of the Wikipedia listing for WXFT-TV (which is what WBBS-TV morphed into post-time share).

There are numerous Broadcasting articles which also refer to the WPWR-TV/WBBS-TV sharing of channel 50 as two separate licenses.

Given that the statement about the license ownership can be disproved, it is likely the rest of the narrative about Miyares may also have statements based on hearsay, and the verbiage from the WXFT-TV entry appears to be more accurate.

I suggest a wholesale replacement of the narrative here with the narrative on the WXFT-TV page, at least until further research can clarify some of the "gray areas".63.196.158.105 (talk) 00:32, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Light TV[edit]

As on WFLD, Light TV is not actually being aired right now. It should not be listed as a digital channel until then, assuming it actually will be on WPWR. Would Fox actually put it on both? Andyross (talk) 22:41, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
