Authorship questioned[edit]

Nicholas Rothwell, in 'Forbidding treasure', Weekend Australian, 7-8 March 2015, Review, p. 8, writes:

  • ... We of the Never Never, a text [Aeneas] Gunn himself had most likely written as a gift for her.

Is there any truth to this? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 00:32, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Perhaps it is possible, but it seems unlikely. The internal evidence of the text seems to suggest quite strongly that it is the voice of a woman observing all of the events at "The Elsey" cattle station and nearby. Some good evidence would be needed to support the suggestion that her husband, Aeneas Gunn, wrote the text. Pmccawley (talk) 00:49, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
