History of web hosting service[edit]

This is a History of web hosting services that I have been working on. Any feedback would be appreciated.

History
Prior to the introduction of web hosting services, in order to host a website on the internet, an individual or company would need their own computer or server.[1] In 1991, restrictions on using the world wide web for commercial purposes was lifted[2], allowing companies to have a presence on the internet. The Commercial Internet Exchange Association (CIX) was formed that year with the goal of providing internet access without restrictions on what kind of traffic was being sent. Companies began to offer to host users websites on their own servers, without the client without needing to own the necessary infrastructure required to operate the website. The owners of the websites, also called webmasters would be able to create a website that would be hosted on the web hosting service's server and published to the web by the web hosting service.[3] As the number of users on the world wide web grew, the need for companies, both large and small to have an online presence grew.

This source webhostingreport.com looks iffy -- like linkspam to be frank. Their "about us" page states that they are supported by referral fees. Surely good background info like this can be found in one of the many reputable books covering the history of the Internet. - Brianhe (talk) 04:23, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Parameters for selecting online Hosting Plan[edit]

Price[edit]

Price will be always an important factor for selecting the Hosting Plan. No one like to pay more than what it deserve. One need to study the refund policy or cancellation charges involved before purchasing any hosting plan.

Sever Reliability[edit]

Server Reliability is another parameter for purchasing the Hosting Plan. One need to ensure that server is live for 24x7. Website will be of no use if it stop working anytime.

Technology[edit]

One must be aware of technology used in your web hosting.Technology must be latest and reliable. Good Quality server is key factor to website success

Customer Support[edit]

Service Provider providing 24x7 customer service should be prefer first. Further, check whether the customer support is house in built or out sourced to third party.

Customer Review[edit]

Online Customer Reviews should be taken in to consider before purchasing the Hosting Plan. At least do the goggle search before purchasing any Hosting Plan. In short, we just need to find the status of Service Provider in the society.

Check out what kind of add-ons facility is provided by the service provider. Ensure Control Panel access is provided and you have the ability to install the software like WordPress ,Prestashop etc at one click.
