Grandfather?[edit]

Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that he is Donna's grandfather simply because she calls him Gramps in the trailor? She could simply be calling him that in the same way that many people call older people Gramps. The citations for these ideas do not mention anywhere that they are related. Until the series starts, I think all references to them being related should be removed from all Doctor Who pages as they are purely speculation at this point Dvyuk (talk) 12:47, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Appearances[edit]

Where has the list of appearances for episodes later on in the series come from? --Riche (talk) 18:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 11 appearance has been officially confirmed by the cast release. 12 and 13 are virtually guranteed as Jacqueline King is appearing in 6 episodes of Doctor Who (stated in her DwM interview) which includes 12 and 13, and if Wilf is to appear in the same episodes as Sylvia (V likely) then he must be in episodes 12 and 13. Fourth Doctor source[edit]

Cribbins confirmed the Fourth Doctor thing during his appearance on the One Show, the Thursday before "The Stolen Earth". He said he lost the part because he asked if he'd be doing a lot of fighting - and the producer believed he didn't understand the role. (And then, sure enough, Tom Baker fights in his first story...) Anagraam[edit]

"Wilfred Mott" contains all the letters in "Time Lord" plus W, T, F. While it's a stretch, the series has used anagrams and messages hidden in names before (Torchwood and YANA). And it's interesting that the characters name was specifically changed to Wilfred.

Have there been any official responses to this? --Starwed (talk) 00:32, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speculation among fans has led to the conclusion it may mean "Timelord FTW" as in "Timelord For The Win" Whilst this has not been confirmed it is a notable peice of speculation 81.96.65.151 (talk) 13:57, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Last appearence.[edit]

Who said The End of Time would be his last appearence? He could possibly become a reccuring character. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.178.33.198 (talk) 10:30, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the Doctor's use of the words, "I'll see you one more time," just before seeing Wilf one more time give a hint. To speculate otherwise would be original research; the article can always be updated if and when. ╟─TreasuryTagvoice vote─╢ 10:32, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

During his last apprence he not only salutes the doctor but blows him a kiss, someone should add that fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.220.137.216 (talk) 20:49, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

World War II Veteran?[edit]

He is in a category as such, but wasn't the point that he was just too young for the War? He did his National Service but was too young for the Second World War and too old for future conflicts, hence his role in Palestine in the late 1940s? Last companion ?[edit]
