Need More Proof[edit]

We need a better source for his early years! 1) Was he born in Marion, New York or Marion, Kansas? 2) Did he attend high school in Marion, New York or Marion, Kansas? It doesn't make sense that he was born in New York but went to high school in Kansas with a similar name. • SbmeirowTalk • 21:48, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The book I cite states that he moved from one Marion to another at age fourteen with his family. Must be coincidental unless the book is wrong. Swampyank (talk) 01:02, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here is what I found...so it looks like he did live in both Marion, NY and Marion, KS. I had to create a free account to use familysearch.org, so I'm not sure if other people can read the pages at those links without logging into it. • SbmeirowTalk • 10:29, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Parents
1870 census record (lists his birth)
1880 census record (lists Marion, NY and his alternate name of Willie)
1910 census record (lists his mother and brothers in Marion, KS)
1930 census record (lists him and wife in Cook, IL)
1940 census record (lists him and wife in Baldwin City, KS)
I guess the research lines up...Runyan lived in both Marions. Interesting. Swampyank (talk) 23:19, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
