Notability[edit]

A planter and industrialist, William T. Sutherlin used enslaved black labor, owning nine boys 10-16 years old and 25 adult males between 18 and 50 years old in 1850.

Simply not notable in the Virginia of his time - and, I suspect, bolted-on here to justify the category 'American slave owners', which is currently being slotted into wiki pages, to sound like 'Holocaust Perpetrator'. I feel that this category should be restricted to people whose slave-owning history was notable in itself. Valetude (talk) 14:24, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
