Injuries?

[edit]

I'm surprised not to find any mention here of injuries sustained by participants in this game show. I'm sure that contestants sign an air-tight waiver that prevents them from suing but since so many are punched and thrown from a height, I'd expect that some people would have been injured over the years. I've seen most of the episodes and I've never seen anyone look hurt. I guess all that padding pays off. Also, they've got testers to see if the course is too rough or not.––Ɔ ☎ ℡ ☎ 23:22, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rename it!

[edit]

Because of this game have spread worldwide now, "(2008 U.S. game show)" in the title should be replaced to "(International game show)". For US-specific things a separate article probably should be created like for other countries. 95.84.50.181 (talk) 18:26, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Wipeout" ended on September 7, 2014.

[edit]

According to a Futon Critic page, Wipeout ended on September 7, 2014, and here's the proof: http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/wipeout AdamDeanHall (talk) 19:45, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Article semi-protected 10 days

[edit]

Due to persistent multiday multiaccount edit warring over the end date, the article (not talk page) is protected from editing by non-autoconfirmed users for 10 days. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 20:00, 23 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The TBS reboot

[edit]

The reboot has its own article Wipeout (2021 game show). People and events for this version belong on that article not this one. MarnetteD|Talk 19:57, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wipeout (2008 American game show)Wipeout (2008 game show) – The current title for this article currently contains unnecessary "double disambiguation". As Wipeout (2008 American game show)#International versions outside the U.S. makes clear, only three "Wipeout" game shows were released in 2008: this American version (the "mother" series), a Turkish version (which does not have its own article), and a Spanish version "¡Guaypaut!" (which also doesn't have its own article, and which has a unique title in any case). In other words, there is no other 2008 "game show" article with this title, and we don't do "preemptive disambiguation" on Wikipedia. So, this article should be moved to Wipeout (2008 game show) to match the other two American game show articles with this title – Wipeout (1988 game show) and Wipeout (2021 game show), as per WP:CONCISE and WP:CONSISTENCY. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:23, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Support per nom. Some1 (talk) 23:35, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No support since there is already a Wipeout Game show and it would make it confusing to people — Preceding unsigned comment added by LittleMAHER1 (talkcontribs) 00:17, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I will point out that this is basically an invalid vote that ignores WP:NCTV: again Wipeout (1988 game show) and Wipeout (2021 game show) already exist – all this proposal would do would make this article consistent with the other two by moving it to Wipeout (2008 game show). All three are already properly differentiated with "by year" disambiguation alone. --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:54, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Results

[edit]

The results for the Wipeout episodes are gone. I need someone to rewrite them ASAP. 204.131.96.173 (talk) 02:30, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not going to happen- as per the discussion at WT:TV#Wipeout season articles, WP:NOTSTATS and WP:DUE apply to these, as well as WP:V, as all the results are (or were) entirely unsourced/unreferenced. All these types of episode statistics/results is better suited for some fan-Wiki rather than Wikipedia itself. Magitroopa (talk) 02:47, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

They don't have results for every episode. It stops at S03E13. And if they were unsourced/unreferenced, how were they part of Wikipedia for over a decade? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.131.96.173 (talk) 03:38, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There were results/statistics for every episode, season 1-7, not just up to season 3. As for the, "...how were they part of Wikipedia for over a decade?"- because people never bothered with it and decided to just let it be. That doesn't automatically mean it is correct/it will stay forever.
All the information/results are still available if you go to the 'history' section for each article (for example, history for 'Wipeout (season 1)'). However, Wikipedia is not a suitable place for all these statistics, as outlined in the sections I previously linked including WP:NOTSTATS and WP:DUE. As one editor at WT:TV pointed out, there is already a Wipeout Wiki that is far more suitable for this information. Magitroopa (talk) 13:51, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for sharing that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.131.96.173 (talk) 18:03, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
