GA Review[edit]

Hello, I am CarpetCrawler, and I will be the Good Article reviewer for this article. It seems a lot has changed from when I used to do these, this new good article review process is unbelievably confusing! At any rate, check this section of the talk page in a day or two, as I will fully review this article, and check and see if it passes as a good article. Thank you very much for reading, and I must say, what a wonderful job you've done to this article! If you have any questions, by all means you may ask on my talkpage. Alright...will do. Thanks so much! Nikki311 04:14, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA review[edit]

I have just a few issues with this article, as it stands right now. They are:

  • "Nine professional wrestling matches, performances with pre-determined outcomes between wrestlers with fictional personalities that are portrayed as real, were featured." - Is that really necessary to say? Hopefully people reading the article know that professional wrestling is pre-determined! Not really saying to get rid of it, just pointing out how it looks out of place in the lead.
  • That was added in to the article in response to FA reviewers saying that the article needs to 100% make it clear that wrestling is predetermined. They cited WP:IN-U and WP:FICTION. Nikki311 22:11, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • "For the first WrestleMania, Vince McMahon began cross promoting with MTV and several celebrities like Muhammad Ali, Liberace and Cyndi Lauper appeared during the build up to and at the event." - This sentence is particularly sloppy. Perhaps a re-write is in order?
  • Both "Brawl to End It All" and "The War to Settle the Score" are red links in the article, and not too much information is given about either show. Perhaps more info could be given for both shows? Right now I suggest that both are de-wikified, and perhaps an article is done for each at a later date?
  • Both articles definitely need to be created. I'll delink for now, though. Nikki311 22:11, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wikify "coconut" in the "Background and promotion" section
  • "Bundy defeated Jones in record making time. The WWF's official time for the match is nine seconds." I've seen the match, and it's very obvious to me that the match went way over nine seconds. Perhaps a mention of the fact that the time given by the WWF was incorrect should be made? Just to clarify, I mean the paragraph in the article getting a mention added, I know that the results box says 23 seconds. However, it will confuse the reader to see two different times listed in the same article.
  • The "Reception" paragraph is a little short. I suggest that you add another paragraph or another review, or so.
  • Someone, in a post above my review, mentioned that MSG Network put this on their list of the 50 Greatest Moments at MSG. I think that would be great for the reception page. I know that the episode aired in 2007, so if you want to go and use the cite episode template, you can do so.

Until all of my issues have been fixed, I will place this article on hold, and give you an adequate amount of time to meet my requirements. Thank you, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask on here or my talkpage! CarpetCrawler (talk) 19:51, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All finished! Nikki311 22:21, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article has passed! Wonderful job! I'll just fix the link to ION Television, as its original airings were on the MSG Network. Congratulations! CarpetCrawler (talk) 04:36, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool. Thanks! Nikki311 18:43, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
