Emerson Esnal Hernández

[edit]

Created/expanded by Tomsimlee (talk). Self nom at 16:46, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

  • New enough and long enough at the time it was nominated. QPQ done. Manual check of spanish translated to English shows no plagiarism/translation copying concerns. Hook is properly formatted and interesting enough. Hooked text is supported by inline citation, which in turn supports the text.
  • Can we add a third source to this? I'm really, really hesitant to approve an article with two sources and have been turning my head at three. Four at least should be the goal for a DYK. --LauraHale (talk) 23:45, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Add two or more sources. --LauraHale (talk) 23:45, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

I've added more information from additional sources, although the only complete biographical sketch I can find is still from the Salvadorean Olympic Committee. Should I think up another hook, or is that adequate. Tomsimlee (talk) 19:16, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
Hook is fine and checked out. It is more of an issue of articles with one or two sources can technically be tagged for poor sourcing. Plus, one or two sourced articles potentially suffer POV articles and can be signals of potential plagiarism (by Wikipedia's definition) so the preference is for at LEAST three, ideally four. --LauraHale (talk) 23:01, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Good to go. --LauraHale (talk) 23:01, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

  • Please don't use "will be representing..." on MainPage. That's crystal-balling. "Will" should be saved for things like the sun rising from the east tomorrow morning. An illness, injury or travel delays may prevent Emerson from competing. I suggest using "is slated to represent..." or "has been chosen to represent" etc., instead of "will be representing..." in the hook. Thanks. --PFHLai (talk) 18:54, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Changed hook to "is set to represent" (a shorter option), since no other action has been taken in the past week. (Also "try outs" to "tryouts".) Hook is now 178 characters. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:52, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
