The first hook is not correct as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift did not have Paul Walker in it as well. The ALT1 is a rumour at this point. Cowlibob (talk) 11:17, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

ALT1 cannot be correct either. Perhaps the first American film, but surely not the first film to be shot there in 50 years! Edwardx (talk) 14:00, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Buena Vista Social Club (film) was a 1999 US co-production. There are probably others. Edwardx (talk) 18:43, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Of course I know, he was quite a famous actor. The hook is still incorrect as it implies that his death is the cause for the first film in franchise without him when in fact he has previously not appeared in a film in the franchise when alive. It's also not interesting because of that. For ALT1: the American production Papa (2015) filmed in Cuba before this film so also incorrect.[[1]] Cowlibob (talk) 20:03, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

• Captain Assassin!, it is not enough to change the hook, you have to fix the claim in the article as well. Please let us know when that is done. • I have just struck both hooks for the reasons given by Cowlibob above: ALT1 is completely untenable due to the earlier Papa, since that was a Hollywood film and co-American production and had to be given an exemption to the U.S. embargo by American authorities. • ALT2 looks okay, but ALT3 is clearly wrong, since Walker died in 2013 and the seventh film was released in 2015; I've struck it. However, as long as the article still retains the clearly false claim that this is the first film shot in Cuba in nearly 50 years (or even the first American one, given Papa), this DYK is going nowhere. • I have returned this nomination from p6 as the sources for the hook (ALT5) appear to contradict one another. Variety says the film "may be going where no major studio film has gone before", not "first major studio film to be shot in Cuba in about 50 years". The Hollywood Reporter says both that it would be "the first major studio production to shoot on the island" and "the first Hollywood studio film to shoot on the island since the embargo was set in the 1960s." I really don't know what to make of these various statements, but none of them equate to "the first major studio film to be shot in Cuba in about 50 years". • This April 29 article from the Los Angeles Times gives a lot more emphasis to Papa starting filming in Cuba even before the embargo was lifted, and names several other films and documentaries that have been or are being filmed there. @Captain Assassin!: can we drop this Cuba idea and go with ALT4?
