Usage[edit]

Initial visibility

To set the template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:

  • |state=collapsed: {{Minor planets navigator |state=collapsed}} to show the template collapsed, i.e., hidden apart from its title bar
  • |state=expanded: {{Minor planets navigator |state=expanded}} to show the template expanded, i.e., fully visible
  • |state=autocollapse: {{Minor planets navigator |state=autocollapse}}
    • shows the template collapsed to the title bar if there is a {{navbar}}, a {{sidebar}}, or some other table on the page with the collapsible attribute
    • shows the template in its expanded state if there are no other collapsible items on the page

If the |state= parameter is not set, the template's initial visibility is taken from the |default= parameter in the template. For this template, that currently evaluates to expanded.

Arguments

The first 2 unnamed arguments are, respectively, the previous and next successive minor planet page titles.

|number= is used to link the transcluded page's name to the appropriate List of minor planets sub-list with its corresponding anchor. It should contain the MP's number only, such as |number=55636.

|PageName= is used to customize the display of the transcluded page's name, such as |PageName={{mp|(55637) 2002 UX|25}}.

For example,

{{Minor planets navigator|(55636) 2002 TX300|number=55637|PageName={{mp|(55637) 2002 UX|25}}|(55638) 2002 VE95}} produces
