Old World screw-worm fly

An Old World screw-worm fly (Chrysomya albiceps), a species of blow-fly, feeding on decomposing matter. Like other members of the Chrysomya genus, these insects are an important tool in forensic science and forensic entomology due to their ability to smell dead animal matter over a long distance.
