Template:R from diacritics

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
  • This is a redirect from a page name that has diacritical marks (accents, umlauts, etc.) to the exact same page name without those marks. For more information follow the category link.
    • Apply this redirect (without piping) when the subject page concerns language translation or foreign language equivalents. Other pages that use this redirect should be updated with a direct link to the redirect target (again, without piping).

Usage

Use this rcat template in any namespace.
#REDIRECT [[(target page name)]]

{{R from diacritics}}
This is in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT.
  • Template {{This is a redirect}} may also be used to add this and up to seven appropriate rcats, along with their parameters, to a redirect.
  • Use this rcat on any redirect with diacritical marks (accents, umlauts, etc.) to the exact same page name that does not have diacritical marks.
  • By default, this template places redirects in the Unprintworthy redirects category. To tag and categorize a redirect as "printworthy", type the addition ¦printworthy in the following manner:
{{R from diacritics|printworthy}}
Note: The "double bar" on the keyboard ( ¦ ) becomes a "pipe" ( | ) on the screen.
That will suppress the unprintworthy category and place the redirect in Category:Printworthy redirects.
  • Template {{This is a redirect}} will accept this rcat with or without its parameter just like any other.
Example:
{{Redr|from diacritics}}
{{Redr|from diacritics|p1=printworthy}}
Either {{This is a redirect}} or its alias/shortcut, {{Redr}}, may be used.
