para nocats[edit]

Why should a barnstar (transcluding the barnstar documentation) not listed in any category? mabdul 15:29, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

All i did was implement a |nocats= parameter as in WP:CATSUP, so that should someone want to use the template without getting their page categorized, they can. Otherwise, if they omit it/don't set it to "yes" then the page will be added to the relevant categories, just as before.

Cat vs Alt[edit]

Is it just me, or does |cat= not work when |alt= is used? I was adding templates tp Category:Science and nature barnstar templates ( 55 ) and had to hard-code the category for barnstars with alts. --awkwafaba (📥) 02:25, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
