Map error between Lawrence Hill and Temple Meads?[edit]

The current diagram shows 2 _current_ direct routes between Lawrence Hill and Temple Meads stations (one via the old Temple Meads goods depot, the other via the triangle with the line to Bath). From maps and other descriptions I have read there is (and ever was?) only one route from south of Lawrence Hill station to Temple Meads (the one via the triangle). The old Midland line route and link is correctly shown coming from north of Lawrence Hill station and going to Temple Meads. I think the diagram needs to at least have the route through Temple Meads goods depot shown as 'ex', perhaps modified as did this route exist as shown? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2ghoti (talkcontribs) 10:36, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

I accept no trains pass through there, but I think it is possible - it's more that the depot has paths at both ends. -mattbuck (Talk) 11:24, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
From satellite images of Barton Hill TMD it seems the TMD is located on one arm of the triangle only, the line diagram shows both the triangle and a separate diverting line avoiding the triangle - this does not appear to be the actual layout here. The TMD looks like it does have connections at both ends - but does this consitite a 'path' on these diagrams? Best way would be to change the triangle symbol to a single junction - however the multitude of different symbols and text based editing lead me to leave it to an expert for now. (Is there a help page or editor for these diagrams?) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2ghoti (talkcontribs) 13:26, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
I've done what you suggested. Is this better? -mattbuck (Talk) 16:09, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Westerleigh Goods depot[edit]

Surely this was located where the Murco depot is now, just before Yate, not between Filton Junction and Filton North. Jezhotwells (talk) 00:36, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Redlinks which are unlikely ever to have articles[edit]

Could some of the redlinks to minor sites which are unlikely to ever have articles be removed. Because the map appears on multiple articles - even in collapsed form - they are appearing on cleanup lists as high "requested articles". The particular one I saw was for Portbury Shipyard which I can imagine ever being more than a section of Royal Portbury Dock, but I believe this may apply to others eg West Depot, East Depot, New Passage Pier railway station & New Passage Halt railway station.— Rod talk 18:58, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

You're right, I have removed some of the links to non-stations. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:09, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

It occurs to me that the map needs an update due to the construction of Filton Triangle Depot, however I'm unsure how we can accommodate this in an already busy section of the map. -mattbuck (Talk) 11:32, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

I had to add two rows to it, but it seems to work. Useddenim, please feel free to enhance it as you see fit! -mattbuck (Talk) 17:09, 18 September 2015 (UTC)

Portishead branch[edit]

Portishead (1954–1964)
Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Light Railway
Portishead (1879–1954)
Portishead Pier

The Portishead branch is wrong. The most glaring error is that the WCPR is on the wrong side; the other problem is that the 1954 station is shown as a through station, in fact it was a terminus lying to the southwest of the original line, facing Wyndham Way close to the junction with Ferndale Road. The little diagram here is what I'm aiming for, but I can't update the main RDT because it's been converted to that horrid {{routemap}} format, so @Jc86035, LordSavage1997, Mattbuck, and Useddenim: one of you will have to fix this. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:13, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

I've had no experience with editing railway diagrams but I'll see what I can do. LordSavage1997 (talk) 23:35, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
Oh yes, two link amendments, no changes to symbols. I merely picked your name from recent history. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 23:50, 27 January 2018 (UTC)
Well then, I'm a muppet confirmed. LordSavage1997 (talk) 00:03, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
