Tatanua mask

  • That's a bit of an odd hook. Would you be interested in choosing another? Breton wasn't talking about the mask, but the culture as you note, and the source puts it in a different way altogether: "In the 1940s, the French Surrealist artist André Breton proclaimed the power of Melanesian art to unveil the primordial fears that “civilized” life masks."[1] IMO, when you are attributing someone by name, you want to stick as close as possible to what they are saying. Yes, Breton is making a general comment about Melanesian art, but he isn't saying anything about this Tatanua mask. Viriditas (talk) 12:22, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Current hook is inaccurate and misrepresents the original source. I've requested a new hook to replace it. Both authors have been contacted. Viriditas (talk) 08:52, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm very concerned that we had copyright violation in this article and I didn't check it enough before nominating it. I have rewritten those sections that were identified. If someone else wants to nominate this article then please feel free to add a hook. It doesnt contain the Andre Breton quote now so I have struck out the jook above. • I removed the creator of the Indonesian article from credits, considering that article's unacceptable use of the Derby Museum's website, as documented on the article talk page, and confirmed by me using a Google translation of the Indonesian article. Victuallers has done a rewrite, so I changed his credit line from Nom to Make. Do you want to add a hook or to withdraw it? The article could also use copyedit for spelling, etc. Sharktopus talk 16:31, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd be happy to withdraw the article Victuallers (talk) 17:00, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
