  • A lot of cleanup is still required.
  • The optimal method of displaying the characters is still eluding me.
  • We may then backport the proposals to the existing templates.
  • Template cleanup should maybe be combined with article and list cleanup (not to mention a complete re-organisation).

Agreed on all counts - I've done some cleanup/tweaking on the template. How would the template look with one subgroup for each anime series including all the characters and Digimon associated with that series? ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:42, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
A lot like 5 different templates:P? I presume you mean something like: |group2=Anime |list2={{Navbox subgroup|...|group3=Digimon Frontier |list3=Episodes{{•}}Characters (list...){{•}}Digimon (list...)}}? If so, I can draw up the template accordingly. G.A.Stalk 18:39, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
Yep, something like that, just to see what it looks like. =) ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 21:33, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
I have added alternative layouts. Personally I prefer alternative 4. G.A.Stalk 05:41, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
#4 looks good in my opinion, too (and sorry for making you do all that work! ^_^;; ). I might play around a bit with combining the Franchise, Anime, and Manga groups later, if I have a bit of free time. ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:51, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
No problem. Just add it as #5:) G.A.Stalk 22:18, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

What now?[edit]

Is there any reason we haven't deployed this yet, then? Are you still dissatisfied with the navbox, or are you hoping to see some cleanup done first or something? ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 20:03, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I think it is ready to deploy... I was only waiting for your cleanup, but that has been done now;). I will only have limited connectivity until after the weekend, hence my inactivity (Btw, thanks for replying on my talk page). G.A.Stalk 21:02, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
All right, I'll deploy it after awhile if I feel like it have time. =D ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 16:22, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

Might I suggest making the listing of characters optional based on a switch or something. We don't really need that wall of links for every Digimon related article across the franchise, just the ones that directly deal with the anime series. -- Ned Scott 09:16, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

I am sure that it is possible. Will have a look. G.A.Stalk 12:59, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Done. The list may be shown by setting |state2=expanded. G.A.Stalk 13:20, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
I think this should probably be temporary, until all the character articles which need merged have been, since we'll probably be left with only a paltry handful of articles after that's been done. ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:15, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

It's time for a major change on this one[edit]

So, to start off, can someone tell me what's so bad about this one?

As far as I'm concerned the current one isn't direct enough. Most who come to the Digimon page will be looking for the anime and a navbox, naturally, makes for a more easier navigating experience on Wikipedia. My change was to bring the anime out of the area it was in to give it an importance and to govern the rest of the page. To be fair, the anime is the main "thing" with Digimon. Unlike Pokémon, the games didn't sell as much as the anime was watched (and loved!) I was very influenced by {{The Matrix}} infobox template on this one while adding the need to place "Characters" links to the needed areas so they're all together. I went further to make "Digidestined" and "List of Digimon" part of the top of the infobox, under "Digimon" and <small>

Can someone provide an error on my willful enthusiasm?

Now, Frietjes has said of my change "looks horrible on a narrow display, and strange use of italics" but can this be accommodated for?

Sorry to step on everyone's Digi-ts!!

Digimon Story[edit]

I request that we add a new section for the Digimon Story games; seeing as DS, Dawn & Dusk, Data Squad, and Championship, aren't actual sequels to Digimon World, whereas Re:Digitize is. MarcoPolo250 (talk) 12:10, 17 September 2015 (UTC)MarcoPolo250

No mention of Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars? --MK (talk) 08:41, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
