Omit them[edit]

The template is not for all the Hindi writers but only selected few notable ones. I have recently removed Ravindra Prabhat from the template and now I have doubts on inclusion of at least three names; Pankaj Rag, Vibhuti Narain Rai and Sahajanand Saraswati. Please give your comments. Calling @Ekabhishek: as he has edited many articles in Hindi literature. Will drop a note at WT:INB too. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 11:08, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

Yes, Dharmadhyaksha, I can see the problem you have, and I agree, we must have some criterion for inclusion, at least along with the masters. Otherwise this would become another means to prove notability. Also we can divide the template along the line of time period. --Ekabhishektalk 11:27, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Oh yeah! Period wise split would be good as the style of writing has changed for say from the pre-1950s to say now. I have added the missing Jnanpith Award recipients in it. But I don't think all Sahitya Akademi Award winners for Hindi should be added here. A separate template of their can exist. Some of those might find place here. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 11:35, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Now, if you can purge the template, and then watch over it, that would be great. Jnanpith has its separate template, though those handful Hindi writers can come in. --Ekabhishektalk 16:06, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Suggest we propose 3-4 criteria that would enable a name to be added to the template. In its current form it seems quite subjective. I am not a subject matter expert on this however. Arunram (talk)
Having 3-4 criteria will help a lot. --Ekabhishektalk 17:33, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
