Problem[edit]
There is a problem with this template. With every other infobox I've come across, images stacked directly underneath the infobox display under the box on the article, with the text wrapped on the left from the top of the page. With this template, the text was held back until the bottom of the infobox, causing a huge block of whitespace. I played around with it a bit, thinking that perhaps all the comments in the template were causing the problem, but that did not seem to be the case.
Because of the problem, I had to replace this template with Template:Infobox UK place in the article Chesil Beach. If the problem gets solved, someone may want to restore it to that article -- I've left the text for it in a comment at the top. Ed Fitzgerald t / c 20:51, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- I checked and the difference is due to the position of {coord}. The coordinates are printed at the top right-hand side of the page i.e. outside the infobox. UK place has the coding in the infobox; I had it after. I have made the change and Chesil Beach is now working as expected. Twiceuponatime (talk) 14:15, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Whitespace problem[edit]
This template adds unwanted whitespace to the top of articles, about one line's worth. It's a minor problem, but it makes pages look sloppy. I can't see in the code where this extra newline is hiding. — Saxifrage ✎ 17:59, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think that it occurs in my edits because I usually leave a blank line after the infobox and before the lede – it makes the code easier to read – although I agree it does have the effect of dropping the text by one line. I shall stop doing that. (Unless you have a specific example where that is not the case). Twiceuponatime (talk) 08:00, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
