Template-protected edit request on 7 July 2014[edit]

Can someone please add a line for the VT 1955 shield to the template? "|VT 1955=Vermont {{{route}}} (1955).svg" Dough4872 17:21, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 4 January 2015[edit]

Can someone please add the following?

|PA 1960=PA-{{{route}}} (1960).svg
|PA 1962=PA-{{{route}}} (1962).svg

Red information icon with gradient background.svg Not done: please make your requested changes to the template's sandbox first; see WP:TESTCASES. Add it to the template where? Best way to make sure it's done as you expect is for you to sync and change the sandbox. Adding testcases that show the result is also a good idea. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 04:51, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
The text should be added following "|PA 1948=PA-{{{route}}} (1948).svg" to keep it with the other historical PA shields. Dough4872 05:01, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
 Done - simple and uncontroversial addition. – Juliancolton | Talk 05:33, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
{{[ping| Technical 13}} ordinarily, I'd agree with you, but when certain regular editors, like Dough4872 who edits a lot of American highway articles, make a simple request, it's just easier to accommodate the edit request than to turn him away with a "sandbox it first" mentality. Template-protected edit request on 8 March 2015[edit]

Can someone please add the following:

|PA={{#switch:{{{route}}}
 |300|400|699=none
 |#default=PA-{{{route}}}.svg

and also remove "|PA" from:

|DC|HI|MO|MT|NY|OH|PA|WA|WV|WY={{{state}}}-{{{route}}}.svg

Thanks.

Dough4872 01:17, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

 Done, but double check articles as necessary. Imzadi 1979  01:20, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
What's the point of this? These are internal designations for PA 283, PA 380, and PA 99 (which conflict with Interstates). There's no such thing as and never has been any PA 300, PA 400, or PA 699, only SR 0300, SR 0400, and SR 0699. The only place these internal designations should be mentioned is in the articles on those routes, the main list, and maybe in the articles on the Interstates they conflict with. They don't belong in the browse any more than any other nonexistent routes. --NE2 01:31, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

What is the requested change? Just pasting the full code here doesn't explain what and why something is to be changed. Imzadi 1979  19:50, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
I apologize. I would appreciate it if someone would add the following to the template:

|AZ 1927=Arizona {{{route}}} 1927.svg |AZ 1956=Arizona {{{route}}} 1956.svg

Thanks, 707 (talk) 19:54, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Old New Mexico Signs[edit]

Can some one please add the following? "|NM 1926=New Mexico {{{route}}} 1926.svg , |PA 1932=PA-New Mexico {{{route}}} 1932.svg and |NM 1952=New Mexico {{{route}}} 1952.svg" Much appreciated. MatthewAnderson707 (talk) 05:46, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

I noticed your coding was messed up, but I think I corrected it. –Fredddie 05:49, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. I didn't notice the "PA" where "NM" was supposed to be. Much appreciated. MatthewAnderson707 (talk) 17:33, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

1963 Arizona U.S. Route and State Route shields[edit]

Can someone please add the following?

|AZ 1963=Arizona {{{route}}} 1963.svg

And this:

|US 1963={{#switch:{{{state}}}
 |AZ=US {{{route}}} 1963 (AZ).svg
 }}

Much appreciated! MatthewAnderson707 (talk) 02:52, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

I really don't like the square corners, but that's what they were according to photographs.  DoneFredddie 03:04, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
Yeah. Strangely enough, from 1948 until 1985, it seems Arizona went their own way with highway signs. Interstates being the exception. They kept using the 1926 specification shield until 1956.MatthewAnderson707 (talk) 03:16, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 30 August 2016[edit]

Please change this section:

 |PA={{#switch:{{{route}}}
  |300|400|699=none
  |#default=PA-{{{route}}}.svg

to add 299 to the list:

  |299|300|400|699=none

There is no longer a route named PA 299 and the keystone shield should not be rendered.

jleedev (talk) 23:02, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

@Jleedev: according to Pennsylvania Route 299, it still exists. Even if it were decommissioned today though, it would still have its marker graphic appear in the appropriately used places, so I'm denying this request pending further explanation of why it should be made. Imzadi 1979  23:05, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply. I'll try to manipulate the infobox usage make it clear that the sign is historical, not current. jleedev (talk) 23:37, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
@Jleedev: If that highway has been decommissioned, add the date for such a change to the infobox on Pennsylvania Route 299 and the headers will change from green to gray. That's the only change that's necessary. Of course the text in the article would need to also be updated as it says that the highway still exists. Imzadi 1979  23:48, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Done @Dough4872: Let me know if this works now. StevenJ81 (talk) 17:04, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

Template-protected edit request on 18 May 2018[edit]

Requesting that <snip> |Turnpike={{#switch:{{{state}}} <snip> |FL=Florida's Turnpike shield.png <snip> be replaced with <snip> |Turnpike={{#switch:{{{state}}} <snip> |FL=Florida's Turnpike.svg <snip> Thanks in advance. Arlo James Barnes 02:20, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

@Arlo Barnes: The new file does not look like the old one, so I'm going to reject this request at the moment and ask for clarification that the signs match the SVG version and not the PNG version. Imzadi 1979  02:35, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
I thought that photos of signs in use might help, but there seems to be annoying variability -- not only in whether the Turnpike itself is depicted upon the peninsula, but whether the keys are shown. http://www.floridasturnpike.com/sunpassages/15.summer/95-express.html shows keys and Turnpike. http://floridasturnpike.com/sunpassages/16.fall/Okahumpka-Service-Plaza-Landscaping.html shows neither. file:FL_Turnpike_Okahumpka_area01.jpg shows turnpike but not keys. I think file:Florida_44_@_I-75_Eastbound.JPG is a neither; file:Wildwood turnpike sign01.jpg is clearly Turnpike-only, file:EB_FL_50_@_Florida's_Turnpike_Interchange;_June_18,_2011.jpg too. Of course, some of these are quite old. The only reason I can think why the road's official site would vary from the signs is that, while it used to be that the road 'logo' was the signs, it might have diverged. @Imzadi1979: This might be a case of the problems resulting from what they call in the OpenStreetMap world 'armchair mapping'; perhaps a Wikimedian living nearer the Turnpike had better verify on the ground the current state of affairs. Or maybe FDOT could be contacted. When the truth is found, I would be happy to update the SVG to match, and export to PNG to get concord on that file too. Arlo James Barnes 03:07, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
I went and found the sign plans and drew up something to spec. –Fredddie 14:23, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
