Changes to this map[edit]

I created this map specifically to illustrate locations in the KAL 007 article. The recent changes to the map have broken this illustration. Please create a new map if you wish to depict a completely different area. Thank you Socrates2008 (Talk) 09:03, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry I missed this comment before posting to your talk page, Socrates. I've provided some explanations there, but I would also like to raise an additional point. Since this template is called "Location map Russia Sakhalin Oblast", it is supposed to show exactly that—the territory of Sakhalin Oblast (which includes Sakhalin Island and Kuril Islands). With the gray map, what the map shows does not correspond to the title. My recommendation stands—it would make more sense to create a separate location map for just the island and use that in the KAL 007 article.
