Assistance needed with correction[edit]

Pinging a few users who are experinced rail diagram editors: @Tol @Useddenim @Zzyzx11. Would one of you be able to help me make a change to this template? There is a crossover from the MX to the M1 track at the same interlocking where the M2 has a crossover to MX. Source here on page 20 and 25. The track is rarely used today, but was originally used when the MX/CX tracks were used as a "reversable lane." Perhaps it might be better to show it in the light blue "ex" color. Thank you in advance. RickyCourtney (talk) 01:20, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, but I may have to recuse myself. First, I currently do not have that quite expertise of doing that without significantly further lengthening and widening the diagram. I realize that both crossovers are outside the 5th St portals and thus may be viewable on Google Maps, but I already thought the diagram may be too big as it is when I made those edits in December 2021‎. Secondly, I am not really exactly in favor of adding it. It is a level of detail that is only found in the history/construction section. And because it really has not been used publicly for more than 30 years, the average person using the BART system is probably not aware of it and thus readers could easily get confused as they scroll down to File:Oakland Wye (tricolor).svg in the design section (which also does not include that track). Is this what you need? I'm not sure which portal arrangement looks better. Useddenim (talk) 18:31, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tweaked. Useddenim (talk) 18:41, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I like this third option. My only comment would be to offset the M2 tunnel portal back to the MX portal. On google maps, they both go underground at the same location. RickyCourtney (talk) 19:09, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I couldn't get to this; I've been somewhat preoccupied recently. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 05:48, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
