I propose having just one list of orchestras, rather than separating Portland from "elsewhere". Or, if compartmentalizing is preferred, what about Eastern vs. Western Oregon? --Another Believer (Talk) 20:51, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

While it might look odd at the moment, Salem, Corvallis, Bend, and Medford also have orchestras that may be notable. My original plan was for Portland, Valley, and Other/Elsewhere with hopes that there would be some balance between them. As to east vs west, that would have just one entry for east. I agree with Aboutmovies that the template's current arrangement is best. The sections can always be revised later, if articles for other orchestras outside Portland are written, but regardless, I believe it makes sense to group those that are located in the Portland metro area.
