"Native from Africa, through ..." is a strange sounding expression: native status does not have directionality. This is a list of places where the animal is native, so why not write it as a list: "native to Africa, the Middle East, and southern and eastern Asia." If it is now found in in many Eurpean countries, why only name 2 of them? Kevin McE (talk) 22:32, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because that's what Common Bluetail says. I can't add other locations that aren't actually listed in the article. howcheng {chat} 23:43, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't mean that poor content needs to copied verbatim, surely? If there is no encyclopaedic purpose served by such a limited listing of European locations, why is it retained at the article/repeated here? Kevin McE (talk) 23:56, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
True, but when there's little to say about the photo itself, then the caption will come from the article. Since the article isn't clear about how widespread the species has become in Europe, I felt it was safest to have the limited list of countries -- I have no reason to believe that it's been spread any further than what's listed there. However, the POTD captions are part of the wiki as well, so please feel free to improve them as you see fit. howcheng {chat} 04:06, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
