Wikiproject Inline templates proposed[edit]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals#Inline templates. I've been meaning to do this for a while. — SMcCandlish [talk] [contrib] 16:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Editprotected request[edit]

{{Editprotected}} Per discussion here and also here, and not having seen any objection during that discussion, I request that this template be edited to replace id="ref_{{{1}}}{{{3}}}" with {{#ifeq:{{{noid}}}|noid||id="ref_{{{1}}}"}}, as was recently done with {{Ref}}. -- Boracay Bill 04:59, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Removed this request - It's already been done, and I missed that. Sorry. -- Boracay Bill 05:03, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Odd behavior[edit]

Why is "[[#endnote_{{{1}}}{{{3}}}|[{{{2}}}]]]" on the template. Seems to be an error. It also does not behave the same in IE and FF and behaves inconsistently. Play with it with the Scouting and William Shakespeare articles. Rlevse 19:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Interwiki[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please add interwiki link [[hr:Predložak:Ref label]]. Thanks! --Ivan Štambuk 17:30, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done. Cheers. --MZMcBride 20:03, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

{{editprotected}} Here's another one, [[ja:Template:Ref label]]. Aoimusha (talk) 14:06, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

YesY Done. SkierRMH (talk) 17:49, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Request for documentation[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please add <noinclude>{{Documentation|Template:Ref/doc}}</noinclude>, which will (hopefully) transclude the documentation onto the page. Thanks. Tivedshambo (talk) 19:00, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Debugging usage at Andromeda galaxy[edit]

Would someone please assist debugging the usage at Andromeda galaxy? The notes at the bottom properly link back to their cites (i.e. a, b, c, and d) however, going the other direction from the footnote to the citation does not link correctly, clicking does not take you there. Thanks. WilliamKF (talk) 21:06, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Could this be a browser issue? I'm using firefox v2.0.0.12 I notice that the java popup shows the correct destination, but a click fails to go there, apparently not finding the tag. WilliamKF (talk) 22:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Inelegant[edit]

I realize that it takes all kinds, but I find separate listing of text from purely reference footnotes inelegant and distracting. I don't find that I am alone in this BTW. I think it's use should be discouraged in the explanation. Student7 (talk) 17:50, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Are you suggesting a change to the {{Ref label}} project page? Perhaps a documentation change? Can you elaborate?
Perhaps this belongs in WP:Talk#Footnotes. Alsi, see WP:FOOT#Separating reference lists and explanatory notes. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 03:09, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

extended highlighting, slightly different[edit]

Rather than creating a solid block of light blue when there are multiple lines of highlighted text, the extended highlighting effect for this template highlights only the lines of text, leaving a white space between lines of text. The resulting display is a bit dizzying. Could that be readily fixed, or would it be a pain? • Ling.Nut 05:44, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Can you give a link to an article, to illustrate the problem? — Carl (CBM · talk) 11:53, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Sure thing. Go to User:Ling.Nut/Sandbox and click on [note a], which is inside the infobox atop the page. Thanks!! • Ling.Nut 12:18, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
It looks to me that the fix, if there is one, would need to be implemented wherever the CSS handling of class: citation wikicite is specified. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 12:38, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
<ref></ref> has the desired result: solid blue box... • Ling.Nut 12:57, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

The reason for this behavior is that the template here uses a span tag instead of a div tag. CSS for span tags only applies to the text, not to space between the lines of text. We could change this template to use a div tag instead, but we'd have to check the various stylesheets to see if they directly refer to the span tag. — Carl (CBM · talk) 17:07, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply... My first post said, "Could that be readily fixed, or would it be a pain?". It's up to you. If you think it would be a pain in the posterior and would require more trouble than the fix is worth, then by all means just let it go. If you think it's not too terrible a task, then go ahead and fix it (with my thanks). And you have my thanks anyhow, just for looking into the problem... • Ling.Nut 17:21, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Missing anchorencode?[edit]

Shouldn't this have {{anchorencode}} as in Template:Note_label? Helder 22:12, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
