I redirected keel laying to Keel in the template without building a redirect, but I am thinking maybe we should build and redirect the page also. Then I looked for an existing page for Delivery & Commissioning and found Ship commissioning I was not sure if that was a good choice it has POV issues and would require some work to meet the intent of the page Delivery & Commissioning I leave the decision to other editors. I came up with the same issues when I put the template together. I have to do more work to put all the pages together. The main thing is that although the terminology between civilian and military craft; ships and boats; commercial versus non-commercial, etc, etc; they ultimatley have different definitions and occur at different times. Pleasure craft do not have a commissioning. Military and civilian (commercial)craft are commissioned (although the ship commissioning talk page refutes this). Yeah there is alot of work to be done on articulating the different categories and creating the necessary articles. It just takes time and people.Gary Joseph 18:31, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No launching?

[edit]

Although the recent method of float-out is listed in the template, there's no link to or mention of ship launching in this template. The former has only really been common in the past half-century, but the latter has gone on for hundreds of years, and is still common today. Any suggestions on how best to rectify this? -- saberwyn 07:30, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
