Untitled[edit]

Hey there, it would be great if the creator of this template came and participated in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Nova_Scotia. I would like to see the flag be the same colour as the other NS pages and templates. I also think that it is factually incorrect to say Dartmouth is a city and Cole Harbour a town. Communities yes. But those have legal meanings that those communities do not actually have. WayeMason 13:14, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I listed Dartmouth as a city because that was its former status. The "Halifax" link also goes to the "former city" article. As for Cole Harbour (and Sackville too), I am aware that they have never had official town status, but I feel they are important enough to be listed in the template. Maybe "notable towns" should be changed to "notable communities". Kirjtc2 19:54, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Canadian wikipedians' notice board/discussion#Harmonizing_province_templates. Circeus 18:41, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thats a good change. Please don't get me wrong, I think its EXCELLENT and a lot of hard work too! WayeMason 00:22, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template re-design[edit]

That link to the Canadian Wikipedians leads to a discussion which leads to all the footers being redesigned to have the same data but to look the same, like this: User:Circeus/oddities Comments? WayeMason 14:18, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changes for clarity[edit]

I went to the Union of NS Municipalities website and got a list of incorporated towns. I have edit this turkey so that the towns are the incorporated towns, that other urban communities section is gone, that the former cities and towns of HRM and CBRM and other important unincorporated towns are all listed together. This is in part because it is incorrect to say that Kentville, for example is an urban community... People, I love Nova Scotia and I hope to retire to Pugwash or Barss Corner, but a little perspective here... urban = 10s of thousands of people. Kentville and Glace Bay ain't it.

To be technically correct, should we delineate which counties are incorporated, and which are not, and then also list the incorporated districts ie: Argyle - Barrington - Chester - Clare - Digby - Guysborough - East Hants - West Hants - Lunenburg - Shelburne - St. Mary's - Yarmouth? WayeMason 00:39, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I question the value of the "former towns" section. I think we should take communities, former towns and former cities and roll them into an "other communities" section. Its a guide to now, not a guide to 11 years ago. WayeMason 13:40, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

subsections of RMs[edit]

I think that the neighbourhoods and communities of the regional municipalities should be on RM infoboxes not on the provincial info box. I propose we restrict this infobox to incorporated towns, villages, RMs only. Discussion?WayeMason 01:04, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
