Might I suggest flipping the color scheme, so that the main template is orange and the sub-templates are blue. Lizard (talk) 16:39, 12 February 2016 (UTC)

The current color scheme matches all other Florida Gators navboxes -- except Template:Florida Gators football navbox, which has its own monotone, single color scheme for all WP:CFB navboxes (blue with orange highlights outside, blue with orange highlights inside). The blue with orange highlights outside, orange with blue highlights inside usually works pretty well when there is somewhat less orange on the inside. See, e.g., Template:Florida Gators softball navbox. Frankly, I would rather switch the football navbox to match the other two dozen Gators boxes. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 18:03, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
I see. It's actually not as striking depending on the computer I'm using and its monitor brightness. But yeh if it's consistent with other navboxes then that's probably more important. I'll blame whoever chose the university's colors. Lizard (talk) 18:52, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
I've always said orange works better as a highlight than a primary color. Ditto for purple and gold. Face-smile.svg Perhaps I should experiment with a mostly white navbox interior. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 19:05, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
I'd imagine that's why the Dolphins don't wear their solid orange jerseys very often. Lizard (talk) 21:04, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
