Future-Class[edit]

Is it possible to get "Future-Class" added to this? (unsure how to do that, otherwise I'd have added it to the sandbox)
It is used on the sister project "Australia road transport" and is needed for the Australian Transport subproject for future things like Melbourne Airport rail link, Suburban Rail Loop, Sydney Metro City & Southwest, Metro Tunnel, Inland Rail, Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport, Sydney Metro West to name just a few. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 10:50, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

More information about the future-class...
Criteria:
A topic about which details are subject to change often.
The article covers a future topic of which no broadcast version exists so far and all information is subject to change when new information arises from reliable sources. With multiple reliable sources, there might be information that contradicts other information in the same or other articles. Not all future categories will be rated with "Future" and may be rated like normal.
Reader's experience:
Amount of meaningful content varies over time as the projected event draws near.
Editing suggestions:
Material added might be speculation and should be carefully sourced.

It's actually quite easy, there are two things to do (described later). But before these are done, we require consensus from the WikiProject as a whole, and not the request of one individual.
Once consensus is obtained, the procedure is as follows. Edit Template:WikiProject Australia/class and add the parameter |future=yes, and save it. Seven message boxes will appear, containing text like "Some of the categories required do not currently exist, and need to be created". For each of the seven message boxes, click the "create" link and save the page without altering the contents of the edit box. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:59, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was hoping by posting this suggestion here to get some consensus on it. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 01:57, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australia has 195 watchers (23 of whom visited the page recently); this page has 41 watchers, of whom just two visited the page recently - you and me. So nobody else is likely to comment here. To obtain the consensus of any WikiProject, the talk page for that WikiProject is always the place to go. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 11:37, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
point re responses so far - I would suggest the wider oz project has very few eds who are interested in the transport project - and those interested have actually come to this page - so while there is not unanimous consensus - you have here a particularly good sample of those interested in the transport project actually here on this page JarrahTree 06:04, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The request is to add Future-Class to the scale for WikiProject Australia, I don't see why the opinion of the transport people should carry any greater weight than anyone else. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:33, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like a solid idea. Would help in tracking these sorts of things. Maybe in addition, if necessary, some more categories for these sorts of articles too. Fork99 (talk) 05:40, 5 July 2023 (UTC) (edited 07:11, 5 July 2023 (UTC) by Fork99)[reply]
I oppose adding a future class to the template. I don't really see the point. Things that are opening in the future (Suburban Rail Loop as an example) can still be rated as a stub, start, B, GA class. Bypassing the whole article rating scheme for future projects seems weird. Steelkamp (talk) 05:53, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The nature of transport schemes or plans is that inherently many projects throughout wikipedia have to deal with the future and in some cases money and political issues keep the articles and subject stretching out in a correct tense. They have not been completed and should not deserve a currency that they do not belong to while in process. JarrahTree 05:59, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And yet Template:WikiProject Australian Roads uses Future-Class (as do most road WikiProjects) see Category:Future-Class Australia road transport articles. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 06:06, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For example East West Link (Melbourne), WikiProject Australia rates it B-class while WikiProject Australian Roads rate it future-class. -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 06:12, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Would say no as its simply not a class scale. Moxy- 06:18, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, given the discussion that has taken place, I take back my statement earlier. Fork99 (talk) 07:10, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Quality ratings broken[edit]

@MSGJ: I don't know what you've done, but Special:Diff/1165194331 seems to have broken quality ratings for WikiProjects using this template. Sub projects no longer receive the quality rating from the overall Wikiproject Australia when that should not be the case. For example: Category:FA-Class Australian Transport articles should have 7 pages but it only has one (which is only there due to caching and will be gone soon). Steelkamp (talk) 09:27, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reporting this, it should be fixed now — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:47, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request 21 August 2023[edit]

The nested labels (shown when banner shell is used) for the biota and sports taskforces are swapped. I've edited the sandbox: see this diff, and it fixed the problem. Can my sandbox edit be implemented? Plantdrew (talk) 21:31, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
