In addition to the original soundtrack for The Prince of Egypt motion picture, a pair of albums were released that featured music absent from the film. One of these was the "inspirational" soundtrack, which was released on November 17, 1998.

This recording included performances by various CCM artists, such as Trin-i-tee 5:7, Take 6, Jars of Clay, and DC Talk.

Mainstream acts featured on the album include Brian McKnight and Boyz II Men.
