Appearance
The Tony Awards are a yearly awards ceremony that recognize achievement in live Broadway theatre. The award for Best Musical is one of the ceremony's longest-standing awards, having been presented each year since 1949. - The Producers has the most Tony Awards of any winner of this category, leading with 12.
- Hallelujah, Baby! is the only show thus far to win the Best Musical Tony after it had already closed.
- Fun Home is the first musical composed by an all-female team to win Best Musical.
