Trojan:Win32/Meredrop is the definition (from Microsoft) of a Trojan downloader, Trojan dropper, or Trojan spy. Its first known detection goes back to February, 2010, according to Securelist (Kaspersky Labs).
This malicious software can install additional malicious files to the infected operating system (mostly to the %windir% folder or the <system folder>). Also, it can download files from a remote PC and/or can install them directly from a copy that is included in its own file.
