An illegal is a person whose presence in a jurisdiction violates laws and applicable law or policy, and usually is defined by presence in a jurisdiction via illegal immigration.


U. S. law to some extent may be violated by legally designated authorities, so reliance on even black letter law and competent legal counsel is no assurance as of 2019 of respect for your legal, or traditionally internationally respected, rights. Competent legal counsel is crucially important whenever available.
