Wikipedia paleoartists[edit]

Some advertisement for my fellow paleoartists on wikipedia. Check out their gallery...

Dimitry Bogdanov: this prolific and talented Russian artist has created 100s of illustrations of various prehistoric critters.
Matt Martyniuk: self-proclaimed "armchair paleontologist", Matt is an expert in theropods and has created many top-notch illustrations of his favorite dinosaurs as well as educational scale diagrams.
Stephen O'Connor: his dinosaurs are drawn with perfect accuracy from the proportions of the limbs to the details in the texture of the skin.
Stanton Fink: highly prolific creator of colorful illustrations of miscellaneous prehistoric critters, specialized in the more obscure critters from the paleozoic and the cenozoic.
Michael B. H.: creator of illustrations of dinosaurs and various prehistoric critters.
Benjamin de Bivort: has drawn many dinosaur illustrations, with emphasis on the hadrosaurs.
Mariana Ruiz Villarreal: has created many dinosaur illustrations.

Other occasional paleoart contributors on wikipedia:

John Conway: a professional paleoartist, specialized in pterosaurs. His paintings have achieved worldwide fame in the paleontological community.
Emily Willoughby: a freelance paleoartist, author of many vivid dinosaur illustrations.
Dan Reed: made very nice photomanipulation reconstructing extinct mammals.
"Eduardo": author of miscellanious prehistoric critter illustrations.

Several of the artists above are no longer actively contributing paleoart to wikipedia but there are some new blood in town:

"Smokeybjb": various prehistoric animals
"Conty": various dinosaurs, essentially theropods, scale diagrams and skeletal elements

Gallery[edit]

Several people have asked me if there is a place where they can find my entire gallery of prehistoric animals. I had to admit that there is no such place (yet) as my production tends to be scattered between wikipedia (where I started), my dA page, palaeocritti, commissions, and various exhibits. I've started compiling them here. All the files are licensed under Creative Commons, meaning that you are welcome to use them as long as you properly attribute the work to me. Note that some of the restorations are either inaccurate or outdated in lights of recent scientific discoveries. Cheers…

Thank you![edit]

Thank you, paleoartist, for quality articles such as Limusaurus, for excellent art, used in articles such as Majungasaurus, for reverting vandalism and adding infoboxes, for "just amused", - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
