Adri (A.G.J.) Dietvorst (1940) graduated in human geography and history at the State University of Groningen and received his Ph.D. at the University of Nijmegen (now Radboud University) on the relations between economic structure and telephone traffic). He worked as assistant and associate professor at Radboud University Nijmegen (the Netherlands) and from 1988-2001 as Professor on Sociospatial analysis at Wageningen University (the Netherlands). His main research interests focus upon history of geographical thought, cultural geography and spatial aspects of recreation and tourism.
